Artone LLC traveled to the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City recently for the Boutique Design magazine’s annual east coast trade show, Boutique Design New York, and received the finalist award for the Best of BDNY Product Design Competition in the furniture category out of 50 other competitors.
The featured SANO collection, focused on health and wellness within the hotel guestroom, was designed by John Brandon of Aerie Design Services from Attica. The collection featured five total pieces, three of which were entered into the competition. The piece awarded was Artone’s closet unit. Some key features are a pull-forward mirrored door, built-in ironing board with iron, light switch that automatically turns on as the unit is opened and designed with a trendy open, airy concept.
“There was a lot of interest with all furniture pieces but the closet unit in particular was a hit,” said Sebastian Calimeri, Artone executive vice president, who was in attendance for the duration of the show. “Many people stopped to talk and ask questions about the features of the unit. There was a lot of excitement.”
“We are proud of this accomplishment in receiving the finalist award for a second year in a row,” said Michael Calimeri, Artone president. “The overall design, function & materials used — all lend itself to the trends we see as fore coming in the hotel industry. Artone’s recognition is truly is a reflection of the collection of talented minds we have at Artone.”
