For six decades, Ahlstrom Schaeffer Electric Corporation has been committed to providing the best possible electric services in various capacities throughout the Jamestown area.
This year, the locally owned company will recognize its 60th anniversary of providing steady, reliable service to a steadily growing and loyal clientele base.
Established in 1957, Ahlstrom Schaeffer has been a provider of affordable electrical services for industrial, commercial, institutional and construction businesses throughout the area. Its services cover everything from new wiring to electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
“One of the neat things about this company is that it’s been handed down to union members through the years,” said David Painter, president, who bought the company with his business partner, Kreig Hoth, in 2012. “People recognize the value of having Ahlstrom Schaeffer here, and so they’ve always been willing to step up to the plate in order to keep the business moving forward.
Painter said he and Hoth have been in the buyout process since they bought Ahlstrom Schaeffer five years ago, and still have a few years to go to complete the acquisition. However, he said, they have maintained a focus on moving the business forward.
For example, he said any formal recognition of the company’s 60th anniversary is being placed on hold until the regular process of preparing for the summer season via placing various bids has been achieved.
“I’m not sure if we really have any kind of celebration or formal recognition planned, but I’m sure we will have a proclamation from the mayor (Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi) — possibly along with Sen. Cathy Young, Assemblyman Andy Goodell and County Executive Vince Horrigan — probably sometime in April,” Painter said.
According to Painter, Ahlstrom Schaeffer currently employs 40 electricians working out in the field and 11 employees working in the office. He said the company also tries to develop and maintain a strong bond with its community through philanthropic means, such as sponsoring youth sports teams at various area school districts.
“We’re a community-oriented company and a big community supporter. As a company, that’s something we strive to be known for,” he said.
Ahlstrom Schaeffer Electric Corporation is located at 46 Hopkins Ave. in Jamestown. For more information about the company and its services, call 665-6510 or visit ahlstrom-schaeffer-elec.com/.
