DUNKIRK — Lake Shore Savings Bank marked an important milestone in its history earlier this month, by celebrating 125 years of serving Western New York with a special employee recognition event held at Statler City in Buffalo.

”Lake Shore Savings is dedicated to our mission of putting people first,” said Dan Reininga, Lake Shore Savings Bank president and chief executive officer. ”Our employees exemplify that mission daily, providing exceptional service to our customers while delivering the Lake Shore brand of community banking to the surrounding region.  This event allows us to recognize their collective efforts, and celebrate the successes that would not be possible without them.”

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Employees of the Year awards.  These awards are presented annually to two team members, nominated by their colleagues, who continually exemplify the company’s mission, and serve as true ambassadors for Lake Shore Savings, both internally with fellow team members and externally through customer relationships and community involvement support.

This year, Lake Shore Savings named Kris Nasal, senior staff accountant, and Peter Moll, Fredonia branch Personal banker, as Employee of the Year honorees.

Nasal has been with Lake Shore Savings since April of 2000, where she began her career as a part-time customer service specialist in the Dunkirk branch and has since held various positions within the company. She was instrumental in the successful achievement of several core system-related projects during 2016. A resident of Forestville, Nasal is actively involved with numerous company-sponsored fundraisers supporting local nonprofit organizations.

Moll began his career with Lake Shore Savings as a customer service specialist in June of 2012 at the Fredonia branch, where he currently serves as personal banker. A member of the junior management team, LS X-Change Corporate Newsletter Committee and Millennial Advisory Board, he is frequently recognized for his exceptional efforts. A resident of Dunkirk, Moll volunteers his time with the Friends of Reed Library for the State University of New York at Fredonia.
