Affinity One FCU Acquires Monofrax Checking

Affinity One Federal Credit Union has merged with the Monofrax Employees Federal Credit Union, effective July 1.

The merger expands the combined credit union to three area branches serving nearly 4,000 members. The merger will give Monofrax Employees Federal Credit Union members access to first mortgage and home equity loans, VISA credit and debit cards, checking accounts and share certificates of deposit. Members will also have access to an expanded branch network that is open extended hours, including Saturdays, online banking, bill pay services and an interactive website. Existing branch locations in the Monofrax facility will remain open with existing staff.

“Affinity One FCU extends a warm welcome to our newest members from Monofrax Employees FCU,” said Melinda Best, Affinity One FCU CEO. “We look forward to combining our efforts to grow the economic engine of Chautauqua County. The cooperative effort of our membership invests heavily in the communities we serve. Through mortgages, car loans, consumer loans and depository services, our efforts help build a stronger community. It is certainly exciting to be part of this effort.”

The Monofrax Employees Federal Credit Union was formed in 1955 and serves more than 150 members, including employees and family members of the Falconer Monofrax plant. Affinity One FCU was formed in 1948 to serve the employees of MRC Bearings, now SKF Aero Engine, and their families. Affinity One FCU now serves multiple select employer groups as well as any person who lives, works or worships in the greater Jamestown area.
