Changing Hands

FALCONER – After nearly 30 long years, Sarah and John Hultman have sold Hultman’s Four Coins Restaurant and Lounge.

When the Hultmans first bought what would become a fine-dining restaurant, it had been a bar for many years prior. It took 10 years to turn it from a bar to the fine-dining restaurant it is today.

“It was a very slow, gradual thing. We kind of moved our way out of the pool table and the live music,” John said.

“We wanted to serve alcohol – just not to the extent they were doing,” Sarah added. “Some of our customers who brought people in from out of town were kind of a lot of those who helped us get turned around. They would bring the locals here.”

The Hultmans always wanted a fine-dining restaurant. When John used to play music at the Four Coins, he told the previous owner if he ever wanted to sell, John wanted to buy.

“One day I came in, and he said I want to sell it, and I said I’ll take it,” John said.

For nearly 30 years the Hultmans served Falconer American cuisine using high-grade, quality food. Family and friends would help serve customers up until the Hultmans decided to sell the restaurant in November.

While the Hultmans will no longer be the owners of the newly named Prime Steakhouse, they will stay on to help the new owner, Debbie Hasson, with the transition.

Prime Steakhouse will be continuing with the same menu, which Hultman’s Four Coins Restaurant carried, and John will continue to cook.

Prime Steakhouse opens at 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 665-6837.

Starting at $3.50/week.
