A Taste Of Japan
LAKEWOOD – Nestled between Little Caesars and Men’s Wearhouse in Lakewood village center, Fuji Sushi and Steak House has been serving the Lakewood community for the past two years.
A traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant, when it opened in 2013 Fuji Sushi and Steak House was the first Japanese restaurant in the area. Serving sushi, seafood, steak, chicken and rice, amongst a plethora of other foods, the customers’ favorite is hibachi, according to Bryan Lin, manager.
“It’s part of the show,” Lin said, referring to the entertainment value of cooking the meal in front of the customers and the showmanship involved. While “hibachi” in Japanese means “fire bowl” and refers to a round, cylindrical or box-shaped, open-topped container made from or lined with a heatproof material and designed to hold burning charcoal, the meaning in America has changed to a small cooking stove or an iron hot plate.
Located at 279 E. Fairmount Ave., Fuji Sushi and Steak House is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m. For more information call 526-1188 or visit www.fujisushilakewood.com.
