Dave Warren recently drove into Jamestown to give residents a different experience when it comes to automobile sales.

Warren, owner of Dave Warren Auto Group, fell in love with the automobile business back in 1993. He said he enjoys seeing the happy look on people’s faces when they get to take their new car home with them, and told the story of when he sold his grandmother her first brand new car. Warren said she worked hard her entire life but never had a new vehicle and the excitement radiating from her face when she finally got one was his favorite moment.

“I set my goals, sights and dreams on to one day having a store of my own,” he said.

When Warren first graduated high school, he wasn’t sure what to do, so he got a job selling Rainbow vacuum cleaners. However, he didn’t want to be dragging a big box around during the winter. A friend’s father was a used car manager and offered Warren the opportunity to get into the car business from which Warren never looked back.

Eventually Warren’s dream to own his own business would come true.

“I used to be the general manager of New Motors in Erie, (Pa.) This opportunity came up where Jerry wanted to retire,” he said. Jerry Swanson was the owner of Lake County Dodge and wanted to retire. “So, my partner and I saw it as an opportunity to buy the store, and we’re excited to be in Jamestown.”

Since buying Lake County Dodge, Warren freshened up the building with some interior painting, remodeling of the bathrooms, a new client waiting area, new technology and a new parking lot. Once spring comes around, plans have been laid out for a new service department and indoor service track.

All the renovations are complete for 2014, and after renovations finish in 2015, Dave Warren Auto Group will hold a grand opening in the spring.
