Attention To Detail

What started out as a personal garage five years ago for owner Robert Reedy’s show vehicles, Elite Kreations has grown into a full auto detailing service.

At one time, Reedy had a few show vehicles – Chevrolet Suburbans he had “decked out.” He had originally bought the garage at 731 E. Second St. as a place to store his vehicles, so they wouldn’t have to be parked on the street. One day, he said, he was washing cars with his friend who had co-owned the building with him at the time when an elderly gentleman pulled up, asking if they washed cars.

“You know, he was just asking questions, and I was like, ‘Sure, why not?'” Reedy said. “You know, one thing led to another, and we started washing cars. Then we started detailing and getting a little bit more into cleaning them. Then a couple of small dealerships were like, ‘Hey, we heard you guys were detailing cars. We wanted to give you a shot, and see what you can actually do.’ One thing led to another, and in five years it grew.”

Originally from Sinclairville, he went to Cassadaga Valley until seventh grade before his family moved to Florida, where he joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Grand Forks, N.D. as a security forces officer for the Air Force. He was injured, becoming a disabled veteran when he came back to New York, working different jobs until he settled into his business.

“There is not a lot in Jamestown,” he said. “People don’t want to come to Jamestown anymore. A lot of people say, ‘Oh, there is no business here. There is nothing for anybody here.’ Well, why can’t we change that?”

He said he isn’t interested in getting rich. While he does want to live comfortably with his wife, the shop isn’t about making loads of money – it’s about giving back to the community.

“We do automotive services and minor repairs, do a lot of undercoating and oil changes,” Reedy said. “We also do tire mounting, tire rotation. We do a little bit of customization, little bit of automotive repair – touch-up painting – things like that.”

Elite Kreations does fleet contracts for local county organizations, such as Time Warner Cable, Alstar Ambulance, Jamestown Police and local car dealerships. A fleet contract is when a company or organization brings in three to five company cars for detailing, allowing for a better price on the contract due to the work being brought in bulk.

Elite Kreations within the next month or two will be a licensed U-Haul dealer, which will be stationed across the street. He said even though there are quite a few U-Haul dealers in the Jamestown area, the reason he is expanding the business is to give the community more of a choice.

Currently there is a spring blowout sale going on where the purchase of a full showroom detail receives the second one for $50 off and the purchase of any detail package and automotive service receives 10 percent off the total purchase price. Elite Kreations is also willing to work with the customer to match prices of competitors.

Elite Kreations can be found at 731 E. Second St. in Jamestown. Its hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It can be found on Facebook at: Elite Kreation$ or contacted at 484-6246.
