Job Corps
To Host Tour
CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Job Corps Academy will host an informational session and tour on its campus, located at 8115 Glasgow Road, Cassadaga, on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. The Cassadaga Job Corps provides training to begin a career in the health care and construction industries as well as High School Equivalency classes to those in need of a diploma. Training in certified nurse’s aide, carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical are available as well as the advanced training for licensed practical nursing. The academy will accept young adults, age 16-24, that are committed to a rigorous education and training program. Applicants can apply for on-center living or off-center living, and all applicants will enroll on a full federal scholarship if accepted. Library Inviting Children Saturday
FINDLEY LAKE – The Alexander Findley Community Library, 2883 North Road, Findley Lake, will take part in National Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. with stories, crafts, snacks and themed activities. Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays, 1-7 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Myers Taking Part In Event
FREWSBURG – The Myers Memorial Library will participate in Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The library staff has groundhog-related activities and snacks planned for the morning since Sunday is Groundhog Day. Children will have the opportunity to make a groundhog puppet and decorate their own Punxsutawney Phil cupcake. For more information call the library at 569-5515.
YMCA Offers Baby-Sitting Clinic
The Jamestown YMCA will be holding a baby-sitting clinic for boys and girls, ages 11-16. The clinic will be held Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jamestown YMCA. The clinic will instruct participants about the responsibilities involved in caring for younger children including child development, safety, emergency response and more. The clinic is taught by experienced instructors who have knowledge in child development, health and overall care of children. Participants should bring a brown bag lunch. Space is limited. Celoron Accepting Taxes Saturday
CELORON – Michael Erlandson, Ellicott town clerk, will be at Celoron Village Hall to collect town and county taxes on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
