RTPI To Host Birding Walk Sept. 26
The Roger Tory Peterson Institute will host the birding duo of Katelyn Davis and Devin Banning of the Chautauqua-Warren Birding Association leading a special fall migration bird walk through the RTPI Preserve. The preserve hosts more than 140 species of birds throughout the year. The walk is free but registration is appreciated by visiting https://rtpi.org/events/fall-migration-bird-walk. Those attending are asked to bring their own binoculars.
Red Cross Blood Drive Scheduled In Randolph
RANDOLPH – The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Randolph Fire Hall, 70 Main St. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver's license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Fluvanna Library To Host Spaghetti Dinner Sept. 26
FLUVANNA – The Fluvanna Free Library will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Fluvanna Fire Hall, 3536 Fluvanna Ave., from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $14 for adults and $9 for children aged 10 and under. The dinner includes salad, spaghetti and meatballs, bread, butter and dessert and beverage. Tickets are available the day of the dinner, or in advance from any Fluvanna Free Library volunteer or board members as well as in the library. A basket raffle and 50/50 drawing will also be held during the event. The library is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. County Parks Commission To Meet Thursday
The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Chautauqua County airport conference room. The public is welcome to attend.
St. Luke's Thrift Shop Reopens Thursday With New Items
On Thursday, Sept. 24, St. Luke's Thrift Shop will reopen with all new inventory in all departments. The clothing departments are stocked with early fall items. The shop is located at 409 Pine St., Jamestown. Off-street free parking is available. Those visiting should enter on Fifth Street between Main and Pine streets. The shop is open Wednesdays,Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
