Bethlehem Lutheran Church To Host Takeout Chicken Dinner Sept. 17

FALCONER – Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer will host a takeout chicken and biscuit dinner starting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, until sold out. The price will be $10 for adults and $5 for children under 6. Dinner, vegetables and dessert are included. The church is located at 20 N. Phetteplace St., Falconer. Master Gardeners To Host Program Sept. 16

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County's Master Gardener Program will host Evening in the Garden on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the new Demonstration Garden, 301 James St., Jamestown, in front of the JCC Science Building. The free educational event will feature two informative presentations designed to help gardeners make informed decisions and work more effectively in their landscapes: Vince Liuzzo: Tree Pruning Basics: Do's, Don'ts & How to Be an Informed Consumer; and Pat Matronis: Techniques and Tools for the Wise Gardener. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and a reusable cup. The event will be held rain or shine. Evening in the Garden programs provide an opportunity for community members to learn practical gardening techniques, explore the Master Gardeners' Demonstration Garden and connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts. Falconer Clerk, Treasurer Offices Closed Sept. 14-18

The Falconer village clerk and treasurer's offices will be closed the week of September 14 - 18 to attend NYCOM training.The Code Office will be closed September 16-18 to attend training but will be open Monday and Tuesday, September 14-15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will be closed during lunch hours from noon to 1 p.m.

Hazeltine Library To Host Author Sylvia Fiorello On Sept. 14

BUSTI – The Hazeltine Public Library will host local author Sylvia Fiorello at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14. Fiorello will discuss her newest publication, “My Best Friend Ever.” “What a fun way to talk to kids about healthy eating and exercise," said Katie Smith, library director. “Ms. Fiorello introduces her readers to two best friends who support each other while they learn about body images, food, exercise and the importance of loving yourself. I highly recommend this to every parent, grandparent and caregiver.” The event is free and open to all ages with no reservations required. Fiorello will have her books available for sale and signing during the evening. The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road, Busti. For more information, call 716-487-1281.
