First Lutheran Church Returns To Regular Schedule
First Lutheran Church will return to its regular service schedule starting Sunday, Sept. 13. The contemporary worship service, led by the Sacred Fire Team, will be at 9 a.m. in the Worship Center and the 11 a.m. traditional worship service will be in the church nave. The Rev. Adam Rohler will be guest preacher at both services. Brian A. Bogey, organist/choirmaster, will play A Morning Prelude by Samuel Wesley and Face to Face by John Innes for the prelude, and The Power and the Glory by Tom Birchwood for the organ postlude. The First Lutheran Choir will sing God of Mercy, God of Grace by Gordon Young for the offertory. The public is welcome to attend.
Kennedy Librarian To Participate In Lake Erie Lit Fest
Dawn M. Swanson, Kennedy Free Library director, will be representing her two published children’s books at the Lake Erie Lit Fest on Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 5 p.m. The Lit Fest will be held at Frontier Park in Erie and is presented by Werner Books and Erie Art Company. Swanson is one of many authors who will be present at the festival. The days will include live readings, performances, spoken word showcases, writing workshops, book vendors, food trucks, and a children’s tent complete with crafts and story hour. The festival is free and open to the public.
Sinclairville Library To Host Authors Saturday
SINCLAIRVILLE- The community is invited to the Sinclairville Free Library on Saturday, Sept. 12, to meet local authors from 1 to 3 p.m. during this year's History Fair. Authors attending include: J. Andersen, author of At What Cost and the Destiny by Design series; Sarah Bless, author of Advenchores with Dad; Holly Beatrice Bless, author of Popcorn Ceilings: A Collection of Poems; Ann Brantingham (artist) and books by the late John Brantingham; AK Coulter, author of Windblown; Sally Ferguson, who has written multiple publications; and and Paul Leone, author of One Hundred and Fifty-Four Sonnets and The Marlow Murder. Other special events at the library on Saturday include The Erie Outreach Traveling Zoo program and face painting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Clymer Harvest Market Is Saturday
CLYMER – The Clymer Harvest Market will return for its second year on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the municipal parking lot across from Neckers Company General Store. Admission is free. The market is hosted by Sweeterson Farms LLC. Live music will be provided by a band organized by Dahland Perry, Clymer Central School music teacher. The Clymer-French Creek Free Library will also participate, and a Harvest Market scavenger hunt will give families another way to explore the market throughout the day.
