Audubon To Host Little Explorers Sept. 12

"Fantastic Fungi" is the subject under investigation by 3-8-year-olds and their adults at Audubon Community Nature Center Little Explorers on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Across varying habitats, a wide variety of fungi, molds, and mushrooms are outside quietly doing some very important jobs. After a short indoor lesson exploring different kinds of fungi and discovering the animals and plants they interact with, head outside to see how many different colors, shapes, and sizes of fungi are around. A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers takes place regardless of the weather, so dress accordingly. The fee is $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3 to 8 and Nature Center members. Enrollment is limited to 15 children, 30 participants total.
