CHQ Professionals Group To Meet For Coffee Sept. 10

WESTFIELD – The next coffee meetup of the CHQ Professionals Group will be held at Full Strength Coffee Co., 55 E. Main St., Westfield, on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The coffee meetup is part of a monthly networking series that allows local professionals to connect and share information about their work. The event is free and open to professionals of all ages and career stages. Attendees are invited to network, build new connections, and share information about the work and activities taking place throughout Chautauqua County.

Rabies Vaccination Clinic Is Sept. 12 In City

The Chautauqua County Health Department and Chautauqua County Humane Society will host a rabies vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown. Animals must be pre-registered to receive vaccinations. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats, and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. Pre-registration is required and should be submitted online by visiting HealthyCHQ.com/Rabies and view the calendar for upcoming clinics. There are a limited number of spots available, so pet owners should pre-register online as soon as possible. Those who register but decide not to attend the event are asked to cancel their appointment so the spot is available for another pet. Appointments can be canceled via the confirmation email received after registering. Pet owners must bring previous rabies vaccination records for each animal receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination; clinic staff will confirm previous rabies vaccination records. All dogs must be on a leash. All cats and ferrets must be in individual carriers. Animal handlers will transport animals to the veterinarian for vaccination.

Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child To Hold Workshop

Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child, an international ministry to children, will be hosting a workshop on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Kidder Memorial Global Methodist Church, 381 S. Main St., Jamestown. The workshop will update area shoebox packers, project leaders, and others on current best practices as well as provide information on the impact, reach and recent shoebox numbers for Operation Christmas Child. Free pre-printed boxes, along with other OCC literature will be available for distribution.

Everwild Land Trust To Make Presentation At Library Today

The Everwild Land Trust will host a presentation, “What’s a Nature Preserve Anyway?” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, Sept. 8, at the James Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St., Jamestown. The presentation will be led by

Bethany O’Hagan, Everwild Land Trust stewardship and rewilding official, in partnership with Prendergast Library. Walk-ins welcome.
