North Harmony Senior Citizens Meet

STOW – Thirty-three members and five guests met recently for the North Harmony Seniors’ monthly dinner. The Hospitality Committee of Anita and Earl Ferry and Helen Johnson oversaw the potluck offerings. July birthdays of Barb Cheney and Linda Kesby were honored with a patriotic cake provided by Bev Butts. Moments of silence were shared after hearing of the deaths of Becky Deault and Al LaFredo. Mary Jane Miller provided piano accompaniment for a patriotic sing-along. Words were projected on two TV screens thanks to Will Ortman’s technology. Winners of the 50/50 raffle were Barb Cheney and Marty LaFredo.

Randolph School Board To Meet Aug. 19

RANDOLPH – The Randolph Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, in the Randolph High School Library. The public is welcome to attend.

Watts Flats UMC To Host Dinner Wednesday

WATTS FLATS – Watts Flats United Methodist Church, 866 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, Ashville, will host a spaghetti dinner with desserts from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19. The dinner will cost $10 with all proceeds to benefit the church.

Master Gardeners To Host Evening In Garden Aug. 19

The Chautauqua County Master Gardeners invite the public to attend Evening in the Garden on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Demonstration Garden, 301 James St., Jamestown, in front of the JCC Science Building. The free educational event will feature presentations and activities focused on practical summer gardening solutions and plant protection, including Watering Ideas While on Vacation presented by Cynthia Carlson; Myths and Hacks on Growing Tomatoes presented by Sue Bloom; and How to Protect Your Trees and Shrubs from Harm presented by Laura Marsala. Guests can bring a lawn chair and a reusable cup. The event will be held rain or shine. Evening In the Garden programs provide an opportunity for community members to learn practical gardening techniques, explore the Master Gardeners' Demonstration Garden, and connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts. Reg Lenna To Screen ‘Maddie’s Secret’ Wednesday

Comedian John Early directs and stars in Maddie’s Secret, which will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. Maddie, a plucky dishwasher, leaps to viral superstardom at a trendy food content creation company. While her life seems picturesque -- complete with an adoring husband, ride-or-die best friend and a cupboard full of woman-owned ethically-sourced chili crisp to boot -- mounting professional pressures threaten to reawaken a hidden secret from her troubled past. Maddie’s Secret is rated R and is 98 minutes long. Tickets for most Movies at The Reg are $8 in-person at the box office and $10 online (reglenna.com) and by phone at 716-484-7070. Family showings are $7 in-person at the box office and $9 online and by phone. Special engagements are priced differently. The theater and box office at The Reg are located at 116 E.
