Dinosaur Water Color Painting Class Is Aug. 17 At Prendergast Library
On Monday, Aug. 17, at 5:30 p.m., the Prendergast Library will be offering Dino Water Color for adults. Learn techniques for painting dinosaurs using water color or those attending can create their own dinosaurs. There is no cost to attend this program. Registration is recommended as supplies may be limited by calling the library's Information Desk at 716-484-7135, ext. 2226. Allegheny Outdoor Club To Hike Sunday
On Sunday, Aug. 16, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike at the Beaver Meadows Recreational Area in Marienville. The hike is moderate, about 3.5 miles. Those attending will meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1:30 p.m. or at Beaver Meadows (Marienville to T358 to Recreational Drive) at 2:30 p.m. Those attending should remember bug and tick spray. Tom Patterson is leading this hike.
Boys, Girls Club announces fall adult program schedule
The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club has announced its fall adult program schedule. Registration for all programs opens Monday, Aug. 17, at 8 a.m. To register, call the club at 716-664-2902. An adult membership is required for all adult programming. Membership fees are $70 for six months or $120 for one year. The club can bill UnitedHealthcare, Univera and SilverSneakers directly. Open swim, the gym and weight room are open from 7 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Water Aerobics classes begin Sept. 8 and will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday and Friday; from noon to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 12:50 to 1:35 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Water aerobics registration and billing are completed monthly. The monthly fee is based on the number of sessions offered. Tai Chi classes begin Sept. 1 and are held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday and Wednesday. Each option is a six-week progressive class consisting of 12 sessions. Participants should plan to attend all classes to receive the greatest benefit from the program. Cost: $60 for all 12 sessions.
