Panama Central School Amends School Lunch Program
PANAMA – The Panama Central School District has amended its policy for serving meals for children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2026-27 school year, which would allow for all children at all schools/sites to be served meals at no charge. I-86 Bridge To Close Overnight Tonight, Thursday, Friday
The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 eastbound over Chautauqua Lake between North Harmony and Ellery in Chautauqua County as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project from 3 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, Thursday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Aug. 7. Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing Route 394 and Route 430.
Cassadaga Valley School Board To Hold Special Meeting Wednesday
SINCLAIRVILLE – The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the Middle/High School Multipurpose Room. The public is welcome to attend.
Reg Lenna To Screen Stop! That! Train! Wednesday
Stop! That! Train! will be screened at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts during Comedy Festival week. The film follows a catastrophic "Stormaganza" as it threatens to derail a runaway high-speed Glamazonian Express train. A plucky duo of train stewardesses from coach must join forces with President Gagwell, played by RuPaul, to save the day. Tickets for most Movies at The Reg are $8 in-person at the box office and $10 online (reglenna.com) and by phone at 716-484-7070. Family showings are $7 in-person at the box office and $9 online and by phone. Special engagements are priced differently. The theater and box office at The Reg are located at 116 E. Third St., Jamestown. The box office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before movies and events.
Prendergast Library's Curiosity Club's Archeology Focus Begins Tonight
Every Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m., the Prendergast Library's Curiosity Club invites teen and adult patrons ages 14 and up to experience new interests, enjoy light refreshments, and learn about activities Jamestown has to offer. In August, the club will focus on archeology, with local archeologists discussing their specialties and projects locally. Today, Tom Greer will provide an overview, followed by a discussion of artifacts found at the Fenton History Center dig site on Aug. 11. On Aug. 18, Noah Dorman will discuss theropod dinosaurs and on Aug. 25 Jenna Anderson will discuss stone tools. There is no cost to attend this program. Registration is recommended as supplies may be limited by calling the library's Information Desk at 716-484-7135, ext. 2226.
