'Cabinet Of Wonder' To Hold Free Performance Sunday At Chautauqua

CHAUTAUQUA – Natalie Merchant will conclude her residence at Chautauqua Institution at 3 p.m. Sunday with a free matinee family-friendly concert performance with a chamber orchestra ensemble of Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra musicians, under the baton of Principal Pops Conductor Stuart Chafetz, which will be free to the public. The concert will center on the music of Merchants' Cabinet of Wonder, a joyful reimagining of Mother Goose developed in collaboration with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and will also include classic children's poetry that she adapted to music for her double-album release, Leave Your Sleep. The program is sponsored by The Mr. and Mrs. Sam A. Miller and Mr. & Mrs. Edward S. Babcox Memorial Fund.

Audubon To Host First Sunday Story Time

Sunday, Aug. 2, is Audubon Community Nature Center's next First Sunday Story Time for 2- to 8-year-old(s) and their adults. Doors open at 12:20 p.m. for the 12:30 to 1 p.m. event. The building is fully open at 1 p.m. The program and building admission are both free. Reservations for Story Time are requested by Saturday, Aug. 1, by calling 716-569-2345 or visiting AudubonCNC.org/August-first-sunday. Participation is limited to 15, walk-ins are welcome if there is room, and it's all free.

Allegheny Outdoor Club To Meet Sunday

On Sunday, Aug. 2, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will take part in the Oakland Cemetery walking tour. The opening remarks will be at 2:15 p.m. at the Oddfellows Circle. There will be a tour of the newly restored Sally Metzger Memorial Chapel. Guides stationed at various locations around the cemetery will share stories about some of the people who helped shape Warren and Warren County. Club members will meet at 1:50 p.m. at Musante Street, Warren, and carpool to Oakland Cemetery, 37 Mohawk Ave. Warren, or meet at the Oddfellows Circle at 2 p.m. for the opening remarks. Lim Reynolds is in charge of this activity.

Cherry Creek Church Holding Revival Meetings

CHERRY CREEK – Christian Outreach Ministries Inc. will hold a series of revival meetings starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, through Thursday, Aug. 12. The revival meetings will be held at 537 Pinner Road, Cherry Creek.
