City Municipal Band Concert Series Continues Today

The Jamestown Municipal Band Series continues today, July 29, at 7 p.m. at the Gorenson Bandshell in Allen Park. The focus this week is on music related to "Children of all Ages." The opportunity to direct the band is offered to the children after they have done a march around the concert area. Refreshments are offered by the Allen Park Women’s Club featuring hot dogs, popcorn, penny candies, cold drinks and the club's homemade fudge. Tickets for the club's annual drive-through chicken barbecue that will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at the concession stand.

Audubon Photography Club To Meet Aug. 1

The Audubon Community Nature Center Photography Club will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1. The group meets the first Saturday of each month, and new participants are welcome. Meetings offer an opportunity for those interested in photography to look at nature through a different lens. A brief presentation will be offered at the end to help those attending develop their nature photography skills. To be included in August's slideshow, by Wednesday, July 29, submit five photos under the meeting’s themes of Plants or Patterns in Nature to club coordinator Taylor Spontaneo, nature educator, at TSpontaneo@AudubonCNC.org. Coffee and tea are provided. Depending on weather and time, at the end of the meeting participants will go outside to take pictures and/or walk around the trails for a bit. Participation is $4 for adults, $3 for Nature Center members and children ages 9-15. Reservations are appreciated by calling 716-569-2345 or going to AudubonCNC.org/august-photo-club. Walk-ins are welcome.

Reg Lenna To Screen 'Disclosure Day' Friday

Disclosure Day (Friday, July 31, at 7 p.m. at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts) is Steven Spielberg’s new science fiction drama. Disclosure Day is rated PG-13 and is 145 minutes long. Tickets for most Movies at The Reg are $8 in-person at the box office and $10 online (reglenna.com) and by phone at 716-484-7070. Family showings are $7 in-person at the box office and $9 online and by phone. Special engagements are priced differently. The theater and box office at The Reg are located at 116 E. Third St., Jamestown. The box office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before movies and events.

Red Cross To Hold Blood Drive Friday In Randolph

RANDOLPH – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the Randolph Fire Hall, 70 Main St., Randolph. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

North Harmony Seniors Offering Chicken BBQ Saturday

STOW – On Saturday, Aug. 1, the North Harmony Seniors will offer barbecue chicken dinners at its clubhouse at 5377 Stow Road, across from Ashville Fire Department and North Harmony Town Office. Eat-in or take-out meals will be available from noon until 5 p.m. for $15.
