Reservations for JHS Class of 1963 picnic due July 31
The Jamestown High School Class of 1963 will hold its annual picnic from 3 to 8 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Vikings Lake Park. A catered picnic will be served at 5 p.m. The cost is a donation. CASSADAGA – Due to forecast inclement weather, the cruise-in scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, at the American Legion Post 1280 in Cassadaga will be rescheduled for Wednesday, July 29.
Falconer Village Board To Hold Special Meeting Thursday
FALCONER – The Falconer Village Board will hold a special board meeting on Thursday, July 30, at 5 p.m. in the Community Building board room, 101 W. Main St., Falconer, to approve a Main Street Grant application. The public is welcome to attend.
Jamestown Public Schools Board To Meet Today
The Jamestown Public Schools District Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. today, July 28, in the boardroom of the administration building at 197 Martin Road. A public hearing on a transfer of funds to the repair reserve will be held at 5:45 p.m., prior to the meeting. The public is welcome to attend.
I-86 Bridge Closed Overnight Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 eastbound over Chautauqua Lake between North Harmony and Ellery will be closed as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project from 2 to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, and 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 30. Motorists should follow the posted detour using Route 394 and Route 430.
Reg Lenna To Screen 'Girls Like Girls' Wednesday
The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen the film Girls Like Girls at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 29. The film is a coming-of-age story set over the course of one sun-drenched summer, where new-girl-in-town Coley falls in love for the first time while learning to accept herself along the way. Girls Like Girls is rated R and is 95 minutes long. Tickets for most Movies at The Reg are $8 in-person at the box office and $10 online (reglenna.com) and by phone at 716-484-7070. Family showings are $7 in-person at the box office and $9 online and by phone. Special engagements are priced differently. The theater and box office at The Reg are located at 116 E. Third St., Jamestown. The box office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before movies and events.
