Busti Historical Society To Host 'Festival Memories' Discussion Sunday
BUSTI – The Busti Historical Society will present a talk on “Festival Memories” focused on memories of the Busti Apple Festival. Those attending will hear about favorite parts of the annual festival, changes, upgrades and fun had over the 50 years of the festival. The discussion is at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at the pavilion at 3443 Lawson Road, Busti, regardless of weather.
Osborn Nash To Perform In Cassadaga Sunday
CASSADAGA - On Sunday, July 26 from 5 to 7 p.m., Osborn Nash will perform on the Cassadaga Floating Stage. From 4 to 5 p.m. on the beach bandstand, there will be Hank Williams tribute artist Jack Blodgett. The Cassadaga Floating Stage is located on Cassadaga Beach, Park Avenue. Parking is limited at the beach; those attending are asked to park at the nearby church, library or fire hall if able. Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue to host yard sale today through Sunday
WESTFIELD – The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will host its annual Dog Gone Good Yard Sale at the shelter, 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. There will also be basket giveaways, tickets available to buy for a chance at a 15-foot fiberglass canoe and bargains. The sale is held undercover in several tents, a newly lighted pavilion and a big Morton building. Items available include luggage, linens, purses, kitchenware, china, puzzles, toys, music, DVDs, furniture, jewelry, holiday decorations, camping, artwork, sporting goods, lawn and garden, tools, small appliances, health and beauty, crafts, knickknacks and antiques. Money raised through the sale will also help to fund the new building that NCCR will be constructing next to the current shelter.
TEA Party Patriots To Meet Tuesday
A deep dive on the Democratic Socialists of America will be featured at the next general meeting of the TEA Party Patriots on Tuesday, July 28, at 7 p.m. at 1309 Norby Road. Matters regarding election integrity will be addressed by Randy Barber and “hot points” in Chautauqua County in relation to Chautauqua Lake, homelessness, air service to Jamestown and the Dawson Metal bridge access will be covered.
Greater Jamestown Zone Capital Corp. To Meet Monday
The Greater Jamestown Zone Capital Corporation board will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, July 27, in the police training room on the fourth floor of Jamestown City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
Sherman Bridge Closed For Replacement
SHERMAN – A bridge on county Route 322 in the Sherman between Mann Road and Clymer-Sherman Road is closed to all traffic effective Monday, July 20, while County Bridge 800 is replaced. A detour is posted. The closure shall remain in effect until the replacement bridge is completed and said detour signs are removed.
Allegheny Outdoor Club To Ride, Hike Route 66 Trail
Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride or hike on Sunday, July 26, on the Route 66 bike trail, part of the Kane Knox Rail trail. Meet at the Leeper Trailhead off Route 66 west of Route 36 at 2 p.m. The trail is 12 miles in length. Those participating can ride bikes or hike as far as they want. Jim and Kim Berkey are in charge of the activity.
JHS Class Of 1966 To Hold Reunion Aug. 22
The Jamestown High School Class of 1966 is planning a 60th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the War Vets Recreation Club, 3431 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown, starting at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Reservations must be received by Aug. 1.
