Veterans Memorial Bridge To Be Closed Overnight Wednesday, Friday
The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 eastbound over Chautauqua Lake between North Harmony and Ellery will be closed between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday, July 24, as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project. Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing state Route 394 and state Route 430.
Busti Gazebo Concert Series Continue Saturday
BUSTI – Happy Days will perform at the Busti Gazebo on Saturday, July 25. The concert will feature the sounds of the 1950s through the 1970s. Happy Days includes Gabriel (Ross) Giuffre on the keyboard and Mary Giuffre on drums. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. Attendees should bring lawn chairs. Sponsors of the event are the Busti Hamlet Development Association and the Chautauqua Community Foundation.
Weekend Murder Mystery Fundraisers For Meals On Wheels Canceled
The July 24 and July 25 Murder Mystery fundraising events planned at Northwest Arena to benefit Jamestown Meals on Wheels have been canceled. Registrations for the events did not meet the minimum needed to hold the fundraiser, said Barrie Yochim, Jamestown Meals on Wheels executive director. Guests who had registered for the events have been credited for their registration payments.
Kiantone Church To Hold Bible Study Starting July 27
KIANTONE – There will be an evening Bible study on Monday July 27, Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Kiantone Congregational Church fellowship hall. The series is titled "Four Views of the Millenium." All are welcomed.
Reg Lenna To Screen Film Friday
The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen the film Leviticus at 7 p.m. Friday, July 24. The film tells the story of two teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most – each other. Leviticus is rated R and is 88 minutes long. Upcoming Movies at The Reg include Hayley Kiyoko’s film adaptation of her book, Girls Like Girls (July 29 at 7 p.m.) and Steven Spielberg’s science fiction thriller Disclosure Day (July 31 at 7 p.m.). Tickets for most Movies at The Reg are $8 in-person at the box office and $10 online (reglenna.com) and by phone at 716-484-7070. Family showings are $7 in-person at the box office and $9 online and by phone. Special engagements are priced differently. The theater and box office at The Reg are located at 116 E. Third St., Jamestown. The box office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before movies and events.
Allegheny Outdoor Club To Ride, Hike Route 66 Trail
Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride or hike on Sunday, July 26, on the Route 66 bike trail, part of the Kane Knox Rail trail. Meet at the Leeper Trailhead off Route 66 west of Route 36 at 2 p.m. The trail is 12 miles in length. Those participating can ride bikes or hike as far as they want. Jim and Kim Berkey are in charge of the activity.
