Audubon Little Explorers To Meet Saturday

The Audubon Community Nature Center’s Little Explorers will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9. The program, for children ages 3-8 and an adult, will focus on what’s happening underneath the ground. Those attending can learn how soil is made, explore some different types of rocks, and maybe find some living things hiding in the dirt. A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers takes place regardless of the weather, so dress accordingly. The fee is $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3 to 8 and Nature Center members. Enrollment is limited to 15 children, 30 participants total. Outdoor Club To Hike Trail Near Bradford Sunday

On Sunday, May 10, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike the Marilla Bridges Trail (one mile) and a side trail in the area. The length of the hike can be determined by each person. The scenic trail goes around the reservoir with three bridges. Those attending should meet at Musante Street at 1:30 p.m. or Marilla Reservoir, 346 West Washington St.,, Bradford,. at 2:30 p.m. Linda Ross will be the leader for this activity.

Panama School Board To Meet

PANAMA – The Panama Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, May 11, in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Chautauqua County Health Board To Gather

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold meet Thursday, May 21, at 6 p.m. in the Hall R. Clothier Building, fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Members of the public may view the meeting live via the Chautauqua County Health Department’s YouTube channel. For more information call the Public Health Director’s Office at 716-753-4082.

Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary To Meet May 12

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the post. The auxiliary met recently. Chaplain Paula Pattison reported that she has sent cards as needed, and noted that the next county auxiliary meeting, May 14, to be held at Unit 59, Fredonia, will include the annual memorial service to honor auxiliary members that have passed away this past year. The auxiliary’s annual rummage and bake sale will be held in the back hall at the post on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items can be dropped off starting May 10. No electronics, exercise equipment, or encyclopedias are accepted. Poppy chairperson Lauren Sharp is ready for the post’s upcoming “Poppy Days” May 21st-25th, donation cans are being distributed throughout the local communities. Unit members present voted to donate a basket to the Sinclairville Elementary PTO “Spring-Thing”.
