County SAR Chapter To Meet Saturday

STOCKTON The Chautauqua Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will meet Saturday, May 9, at the Stockton Hotel. The meeting begins at 12:30 p.m. Updates on the Patriot Marker Program and the History Expo coming up this summer are planned. The Sons of the American Revolution is a lineage society for those who can trace their ancestry to the Patriots who fought for freedom or otherwise supported the fight for liberty. Those interested in becoming a member, or have an interest in American history, are invited to join.

Rod & Gun Auxiliary To Meet

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary Board will meet Thursday, May 7, at 4 p.m. The general auxiliary’s May meeting will be held Tuesday, May 12, at 4 p.m. in the club’s board room. All auxiliary members are invited to attend. There will be a memorial service for members who passed away in 2025. The auxiliary’s annual summer picnic will be held June 9, at the Rod and Gun Club. The cost is $15 per person, and the picnic is for auxiliary members only. Pat Cook will provide the entertainment. Tickets may be purchased at the May general meeting or by May 31. Authors To Visit Sinclairville Library Saturday

SINCLAIRVILLE – Several local authors will visit the Sinclairville Free Library on Saturday, May 9, at 10:30 a.m. to introduce their books. Authors include AK Coulter (Windblown), Richard Knott Jr. (The House of Secrets) and Paul Leone (One Hundred and Fifty-Four Sonnets: Fairy Queen). Coulter has taught writing, tutored, and worked with various non-profit organizations in editing and formatting their written publications. She is a member of the ACFW, Word Girls, My Book Therapy, the Sinclairville Write Circle, and the Busti Writers Group. Her fiction has earned several awards, most notably, the Frasier Bronze and the ACFW Genesis awards. Knott was a teacher for 35 years before starting a writing career. He has written eight novels, of which The House of Secrets is his first. Leone is a writer, accomplished storyteller, and with this volume a published poet. He has performed publicly, including poetry recitation, in many venues throughout New York and Pennsylvania. A former roster artist in the regional Council on the Arts, he has performed and taught workshops in most of the region’s schools. Copies will be available for purchase and signing by the authors.

Reg Lenna To Screen Film Today

The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen the films March by Sofia at 7 p.m. Wednesday and EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 13. Marc by Sofia is an intimate, unconventional portrait of Marc Jacobs, crafted by Sofia Coppola to capture the genius and singular universe of the iconic American designer. Marc by Sofia is rated PG-13 and is 97 minutes long. In EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, Elvis sings and tells his story like never before in a new cinematic experience from visionary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann.
