County Planning Board Slates Capital Projects Review Meetings

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Planning Board will hold its Capital Projects Review meetings on May 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. and May 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Legislative Chambers at the Gerace Office Building at 3 N Erie St., Mayville. Panama Senior Citizens To Gather May 7

PANAMA – The Panama Senior Citizens will meet at noon May 7 at the Panama Methodist Church for a tureen dinner. The group’s annual memorial service for members who passed away over the past year will be held as well as families who have lost a loved one. Members of the committee include Karen Hurlburt, Betty Johnson, Toni Campbell, Marty LaFredo and Richard Harper. Area seniors are invited to attend. Those attending should bring their own table service and a dish to pass.

Annual Barone Scholaship Fund Rummage Sale Is May 9

LAKEWOOD – The George L Barone Jr Scholarship Fund will host its fifth annual rummage sale on Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lakewood Y Lake Lodge, 185 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood. This year’s sale is donation with a fill a bag sale. Donations already far exceed any other year with brand new items, household goods, clothing, toys, movies and music among the items donated. All proceeds benefit the George L. Barone Jr. Scholarship Fund held at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and given to a graduating senior every June.

Fluvanna Freee Library To Hold Open House May 4

FLUVANNA – The Fluvanna Free Library is celebrating an open house on Thursday, May 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. Highlights include updates, new construction and the history of the library. The open house will also feature guided tours, exhibits and refreshments. The public is welcome to attend.

Prendergast Library To Host All-Ages Movie May 15

The James Prendergast Library will host an all-ages movie night from 4:30 to 6 p.m. May 15 featuring Moana 2. “Moana 2” reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced. There is no cost to attend the movie, which will be shown in the library’s Fireplace Room.
