Allen Cemetery Association To Meet May 4
The Allen Cemetery Association will hold their annual meeting at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer. All are welcome to attend. The group has old and new business to discuss along with the upcoming memorial service which will be held on Sunday, May 17, at 2:30 p.m. at the Allen Cemetery on Willard Street Extension. The group is planning a dedication ceremony after the service for a historical marker that was granted to the cemetery by The Pomeroy Foundation. The marker will honor the four Revolutionary War veterans interred in the cemetery. All old decorations must be cleared out before April 1 in the spring and October 15 in the fall.
Red Cross To Host Blood Drive May 5 In Clymer
CLYMER – The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 5 at Clymer Central School. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
BOCES, Waterfront Foundation To Host Wellness Event
ASHVILLE – Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES and The Waterfront Foundation will host a community wellness event on Wednesday, May 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hewes Educational Center, 2615 N. Maple Ave., Ashville. During the Love Yourself Jamestown event, students in the Cosmetology program will provide services including manicures, pedicures, and hair washing and styling by appointment, along with complimentary refreshments. Health Careers students will also offer vital checks, as well as height and weight screenings. Appointments are required for services and can be made by calling 716-672-3241, ext. 3041.
First Presbyterian Church To Host Rummage Sale
The First Presbyterian Church of Jamestown will hold a spring rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, with a wide selection of spring and summer clothing, household items, games, and other items. Most items are 25 cents unless otherwise marked. The sale will take place in the church’s fellowship hall, 509 Prendergast Ave. Those attending should enter through the Sixth Street door.
Myrtle Cemetery Association To Hold Annual Meeting
The Myrtle Cemetery Association will be holding its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, in the Clarks Corners Community Church conference room. All board members, lot owners and other interested parties are urged to attend. Election of officers and several board members will be held. Discussion of cemetery rules, services, and the health and future of the association will be part of the agenda.
