Master Gardeners Help Desk Now Open
The Chautauqua County Master Gardener Help Desk has officially reopened for the season. The Help Desk will operate every Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. through the end of September, providing community members with reliable, research‒based horticultural assistance. The desk is located just inside the northern entrance of the Carnahan Building on the Jamestown Community College campus. Residents can contact the Master Gardeners by calling 716‒664‒9502, ext. 224; emailing chautauquamg@cornell.edu; and in person from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesdays. Master Gardeners are available to help with a wide range of gardening topics, including: troubleshooting common garden and landscape problems; identifying invasive species and providing management guidance; recommending trusted local resources and services; plant identification; soil health questions; and free pH soil testing. In addition to weekly service hours, the Help Desk will also be open during the Master Gardener plant sale on May 16 at JCC, offering additional opportunities for community members to seek guidance.
Holy Apostle Choir To Present ‘Seven Last Words Of Christ’ Friday
The Holy Apostles Parish Choir will present The Seven Last Words of Christ by Theodore Dubois at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 508 Cherry St., at 12:10 p.m. on Friday, April 3. Cantata soloists are Tony Dolce, Steve Sirocky, Jason Higbee, Sammy Scalise, Christine Panebianco and Alex Scalise. The choir will be accompanied by church organist, Donna Gatz and is under the direction of Anne F. Dolce. The performance is free and open to the public.
Reg Lenna To Screen Film Friday
The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen the film Goat on Friday, April 3, at 7 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. Monday, April 6. The film follows Will, a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball – a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world. Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionize the sport and prove once and for all that “smalls can ball!” Goat is rated PG and is 100 minutes long. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi star in Wuthering Heights, (Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m.) a passionate and tumultuous love story set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire moors, exploring the intense and destructive relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. Wuthering Heights is rated R and is 136 minutes long. Upcoming Movies at The Reg include: the 2026 Academy Award winner for Best Documentary Feature Mr. Nobody Against Putin (April 15 at 7 p.m.).
