Kennedy First UMC To Host Sunrise Service
KENNEDY – Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be holding its Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 5, in the church sanctuary. The message will be given by Shepherd Kristian Snyder. Communion will be served. This is the only Easter service the church will be holding. There will be a pancake breakfast offered following the service at no charge. This has been an annual tradition for many years. All are welcome to join.
Good Friday Service Set For City Church
The community is invited to attend a special Good Friday service at Camp Street United Methodist Church beginning at noon Friday. Pastor John A. Jackson will lead the service focusing on the stations of the cross with readings by members of the congregation. Hymns will also be included. Located at 110 Sanford Drive, Jamestown, Camp Street United Methodist Church is handicapped accessible. Regular services are held at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday with adult and youth Sunday School classes following.
Audubon Photo Club Meets Saturday Morning
The Audubon Community Nature Center’s newly relaunched Audubon Photography Club will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4. The club meets the first Saturday of each month. The Audubon Photography Club encourages photographers to look at nature through a different lens. Plus, there is a brief presentation at the end to help those attending develop their nature photography skills. To be included in April’s slideshow, one week before, submit five photos under the meeting’s themes of “Landscapes” or “Signs of Spring” to Taylor Spontaneo, club coordinator and Audubon nature educator, at TSpontaneo@AudubonCNC.org. Coffee and tea are provided. Depending on weather and time, at the end of the meeting participants will go outside to take pictures and/or walk around the trails for a bit. Participation is $4 for adults, $3 for Nature Center members and children ages 9-15. Reservations are appreciated by calling 716-569-2345 or going to AudubonCNC.org/april-photo-club. Walk-ins are welcome.
BPU Announces Hours For Easter Holiday
The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, in observance of Easter. The Customer Service Office will reopen for business at 9 a.m. Monday, April 6. Garbage and recycling will be collected on their regular weekly schedule, with no changes. The recycling products for March 30-April 3 are cardboard and boxboard. Customers who need to pay bills on the holiday can do so online www.JamestownNYBPU.gov, under “My Account” on the home page. Phone payments also may be made at 661-1660, ext. 3. Customers may leave checks or money orders (no cash) after hours in drop-off boxes located in the BPU Customer Service Office parking lot down the D driveway, 92 Steele Street; outside City Hall on Tracy Plaza; and inside the vestibule of the Jamestown Police Department entrance on Second Street. For reports of trouble in all BPU Divisions after business hours, customers may call 716-661-1640. During business hours, utility trouble may be reported to 661-1660.
