Jamestown Easter Egg Hunt Is Saturday

Jamestown’s 78th annual Easter egg hunt is happening Saturday, March 28 at 11 a.m. at the Allen Park soccer fields.

Children 12 and under are invited to participate. Thousands of colorful eggs will be waiting, including special Prize Eggs with extra surprises inside. The Easter Bunny will also be in attendance. A sensory-friendly section will be available to ensure a welcoming experience for all families. Those attending are asked to arrive early. The hunt begins promptly at 11 a.m.

Sunset Hill Wreaths Must Be Removed By Tuesday

LAKEWOOD – Sunset Hill Cemetery Association is holding its spring cleanup. Those who want to keep their wreath must remove them by Tuesday, March 31. Any remaining wreaths will be disposed of by the maintenance department.

JCC To Host Open House April 18 On Jamestown Campus

Jamestown Community College will host Jayhawk Open House events for prospective students and their families on April 18 at the Jamestown campus from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Campus visitors will have the opportunity to attend sessions based on their academic interests. Sessions may include interactive presentations, tours, demonstrations, and opportunities to speak with faculty. Following the academic sessions, a student services fair will feature staff from support offices and departments available to answer questions about financial aid, advising, career counseling, campus and residential life, and more. Lunch will be provided starting at 11:30 a.m. followed by campus tours with student ambassadors and Admissions staff. Accepted students can attend an advisement information session from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. to get help with next steps in the enrollment process. Lawson Center To Host Safe Boating Class

BEMUS POINT – A safe boating course will be held May 9 at the Lawson Center in Bemus Point. To operate a boat, the state of New York requires everyone to pass a written exam to receive a boating safety certificate. Ferry Pilot Margaret Mary Wagner will host the class to get students ready to take the exam. To register visit https://tinyurl.com/7kjsd8zk. No walks-ins permitted. Wagner is an experienced member of the US Coast Guard AUX, licensed captain and ferry pilot for 15 years. Students passing the state exam will earn a safe boating certificate. The class is limited to enrollment of 60. Those ages 18 or older have to pay a $10 fee for their permanent boating safety certificate, payable to New York State Parks. The free class is sponsored by the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry and the Lawson Center.
