Jamestown Civil Air Patrol Squad Receives Awards
Jamestown Composite Squadron NY 402 members received several awards during the WNY Mill Ball in January. Nine cadets from the local squadron attended. C/Capt. Amelia Matteson-Garza was named the WNYG Cadet of the Year for 2025 while C/Capt. Finn Johnson was given the Amelia Earhart Award from Group Commander Major Brian Wells and received the WNYG Flight Scholarship Award to help him become a pilot. Squadron NY 402 also received an achievement award for participation in the High Altitude Balloon Challenge, was recognized with the National Quality Cadet Unit Award and received the Aerospace Education Achievement Award.

Every Tuesday evening, Prendergast Library’s Curiosity Club invites teen and adult patrons ages 14 and up to experience new interests, enjoy light refreshments, and learn about activities Jamestown has to offer. During the month of April, the Society for Creative Anachronism will be helping patrons learn about topics including medieval dance, armor making, medieval cooking, woodworking, calligraphy, medieval garb and various fiber arts. Curiosity Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays in April starting April 7. There is no cost to attend. Registration is recommended as supplies may be limited. Cassadaga Library To Host East Egg Hunt On March 28
CASSADAGA – The Seymour Cassadaga Library branch will host an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 28. Families may arrive as early as 10 a.m. for regular library services. There will be an activity at 11 a.m., and the egg hunt begins at noon. Children will be sorted by age, so the younger children have the opportunity to start first. Some eggs will hold candy; others will hold surprises or tokens for special prizes. Reservations are requested by March 26 by emailing Info@stocktonlibraries.org or calling 716-595-3822.
Poland, Kennedy Library Hosting Easter Egg Hunts
KENNEDY – The town of Poland and the Kennedy Free Library are working together on dual Easter egg hunts. The public Easter egg hunt for the town of Poland will take place on April 4 at 10 a.m. at Temple Elementary School. The Easter Bunny will be available at the egg hunt. The Kennedy Free Library will be hosting an inclusive Easter egg hunt for children with disabilities on April 4 from 10 a.m. to noon. The egg hunt is by registration only to ensure each child has a personalized experience tailored to their unique needs. The Easter Bunny will also be available for the egg hunt.
