First Lutheran To Host Noon Lenten Service Wednesday

The Rev Robert Allport-Cohoon, pastor at Bethel Lutheran Church, Jamestown, will be the guest speaker at the midweek noon-time Lenten Service at the First Lutheran Church Jamestown on Wednesday, March 18,. Kimberly King will be the organist. The Lenten services are sponsored by the Southwestern Conference Lutherans and will be held in the Memorial Chapel which is handicap accessible. The 12 p.m. service will be followed by a soup, salad, and homemade pie luncheon in the church parlors for a nominal fee. The luncheon is sponsored by the First Lutheran Altar Society. The public is welcome to attend.

Antique Car Club To Meet Wednesday

FLUVANNA – The CLRAACA will have its monthly general meeting on Wednesday, March 18, at the War Vets Recreation Club in Fluvanna. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. Anyone with an interest in antique automobiles is welcome to attend.

Reg Lenna To Screen Film Wednesday

The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen A Private Life at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 18. In the film, renowned psychiatrist Lilian Steiner (Jodie Foster) mounts a private investigation into the death of one of her patients, whom she is convinced has been murdered. A Private Life is rated R and is 107 minutes long. The film is presented in French with English subtitles. Upcoming Movies at The Reg include: Amanda Seyfried in the period musical drama The Testament of Ann Lee (March 25), Alexander Skarsgard in the dark romantic comedy Pillion (March 27), and the family-friendly animated film Goat (April 3 and April 6.). Tickets for most Movies at The Reg are $8 in-person at the box office and $10 online (reglenna.com) and by phone at 716-484-7070. Family showings are $7 in-person at the box office and $9 online & by phone. Special engagements are priced differently. The theater and box office at The Reg are located at 116 E. Third St., Jamestown. The box office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before movies and events.

JHS Class Of 1961 To Host Reunion In August

The Jamestown High School Class of 1961 will be celebrating its 65th class reunion at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel in Celoron on Friday, Aug. 14, from 5 to 9 p.m. The cost of the one-day reunion event will be $60 per person and includes a dinner buffet and socializing. Early commitments and responses are needed to determine the number attending. Final Reservations are due by July 1. Carroll Lodge To Hold Pancake Breakfast

The Carroll Lodge will hold a pancake breakfast on Saturday, March 21, at the Mount Moriah Lodge Building, 3485 Baker Street Ext., from 8 a.m. to noon. All proceeds will be used for the Lodge Scholarship Fund. The cost is $10.
