City Planning Commission To Meet Today
The Jamestown Planning Commission will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the police training room on the fourth floor of Jamestown City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
Master Gardeners To Host Guest Speaker Series
The Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua Master Gardener Program will host three guest speaker sessions, with the first from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, via Zoom with Aaron Sexton, assistant professor in the School of Integrative Plant Science at Cornell University. Sexton’s work focuses on how management practices of urban ecosystems influence biodiversity in urban settings. His field practices span from New York City to France and Germany and seeks to support human-nature interaction and biodiversity. To register visit tinyurl.com/4jkcbfvf. JLDC To Gather Wednesday
The Jamestown Local Development Corporation will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the Mayor’s Conference Room on the fourth floor of city hall. The public is welcome to attend.
First Lutheran Church To Hold Ash Wednesday Service
The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle, guest pastor, will be the preacher and preside at the midweek noon-time Ash Wednesday Service at the First Lutheran Church, 120 Chandler St., Jamestown, Wednesday, Feb. 18, and the imposition of ashes will be offered. The weekly Lenten services are sponsored by the Southwestern Conference Lutherans and will be held in the Memorial Chapel which is handicap accessible. The noon service will be followed by a soup, salad, and homemade pie luncheon in the church parlors for a nominal fee. The luncheon is sponsored by the First Lutheran Altar Society. The public is welcome to attend.
Prendergast Library Board To Meet Thursday
The Prendergast Library’s next Board of Trustees meeting will be held at the library on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 5:15 p.m. Board meetings are open to the public.
Mayville Senior Citizens To Gather Thursday
MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet at noon Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Mayville VFW. Members are invited to bring a soup, sandwich, or another dish to share for the luncheon. Membership dues are being accepted. If Chautauqua Lake Central School is closed, the meeting will be cancelled.
