Chautauqua Mall To Hold Blood Drive Today

LAKEWOOD – The American Red Cross will host blood drives at the Chautauqua Mall, 318 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. today, Feb. 6, and on Feb. 26. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Open Saturday

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 209 Pine St., Jamestown, will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the Farmer’s Market at St. Luke’s Church. Half-priced items include ladies winter coats/jackets, sweaters, pants and jeans, purses and skirts, men’s dress and sport shirts. The children’s and housewares departments are well stocked. All proceeds are used for local outreach.

Golden Agers To Gather Feb. 17

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. It’s the group’s first meeting of the new year with 2026 officers to be sworn in. All seniors age 55 and over are welcome to attend a meeting and consider joining. Annual dues are $10.

Jackson Elementary To Hold Kindergarten, Pre-K Registration

FREWSBURG – Registration for students eligible for universal pre-kindergarten and kindergarten at Robert H. Jackson Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year will be held on Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment time for registration, call Mrs. Brady at 716-569-7084. To be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1. To be eligible for UPK, a child must be 4 years old on or before Dec. 1. A state birth certificate, documented immunization records, completed online registration, additional district forms, and two proofs of residency are required at time of registration. Packets with registration information are being mailed to parents the school knows are living in the Frewsburg Central School District. Anyone not receiving the packet, who has an eligible child or has any questions regarding registration should call the school office.

UPMC Chautauqua To Host Blood Drive Feb. 19

UPMC Chautauqua will host a Community Blood Bank blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 19. All presenting donors at the Erie Donor Center or at mobile blood drives throughout February will receive a limited-edition sweatshirt. To schedule an appointment call 814-456-4206. Appointments are encouraged to reduce your wait time but are not required. Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good general health. Donors also need to show a valid photo ID to donate.
