Senior Sweetheart Nominations Being Accepted

LAKEWOOD – Brookdale Lakewood is accepting nominations for its annual Chautauqua County Senior Sweetheart Contest. The special county-wide contest is driven by the community to recognize one individual for their service, talent, commitment, achievement or overall positive impact on their family, friends, and the community. All nominees must be at least 70 years old and residae in Chautauqua County. They can nominated by contacting Scott Lumia, sales manager of Brookdale Lakewood at 716-969-6939 or scott.lumia@brookdale.com, or nominations can be mailed to his attention at 220 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, NY 14750. All entries are due by Friday, Feb. 6. Brookdale Lakewood, 220 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, will be hosting a special community recognition reception on Friday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m., where Joy King, executive director of Brookdale Lakewood, will be crowning the 2026 Chautauqua County Sweetheart Winner. This year’s Sweetheart will be eligible to receive a package of gifts worth over $500.

Falconer Village Board To Meet

FALCONER – The Falconer Village Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in the Fire Exempts Hall, 3 Coleson Drive. The public is welcome to attend.

Women’s Group To Gather

The Jamestown Warren Christian Women Village Missions Country Partners will meet Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 11:30 a.m. for a noon luncheon at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell. The speaker will be Maria Zurcher with music by Vi Birchard, both of Warren. Lunch is $7. Those attending should bring a $1 brown bag item for exchange. There are no dues nor membership to attend. The snow date will be Feb 17.

County Land Bank Board Meet

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation’s Audit Committee meeting will take place in Mayville at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, followed by the regular monthly board meeting at 9 a.m. Both meetings will have the option to view live via their own dedicated YouTube links. The monthly meetings of the Land Bank Corporation are conducted to discuss business associated with the acquisition and potential sale of property by the land bank and other official business as required. Ag & Farmland Protection Board To Gather

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board will meet at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13 in the Legislative Chamber of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville.
