Sheriff Quattrone Featured At TEA Party
Sheriff Jim Quattrone will be featured at the next gathering of the Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots on Tuesday, at 7 p.m. at 1309 Norby Road. Representatives of Club America affiliated with Turning Point USA will be present to share about the progress on establishing the club at JHS and other local schools. The evening will also bring attention to issues related to Minneapolis, ICE and fraud with taxpayers’ money.
Cornell Cooperative Extension Board To Meet Tuesday
The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County Board of Directors will hold its reorganizational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. in the JCC Carnahan Center, 241 James Ave., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
Jamestown Public Schools Board To Gather
The Jamestown Public Schools District Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 6 p.m. in the boardroom of the administration building, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend. The agenda includes approval of a memorandum of agreement between the district and the Jamestown Teachers Association and approval of an overnight field trip for the Jamestown High School Winterguard.
Mobile Pantry Truck To Visit Ashville UMC
ASHVILLE – The Mobile Pantry Truck from the Food Bank of WNY will be at the the Ashville United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27. To receive food, proof of address showing residence at one of the following zip codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Greenhurst 14742, Lakewood 14750, Maple Springs 14756, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and the town of Busti. Those receiving food must fill out a TEFAP form and bring their own bags or boxes to put the food in.
Audubon First Saturday Story Time Is Feb. 1
The Audubon Community Nature Center will host its next First Sunday Story Time for children ages 2 to 8 on Feb. 1. Doors open at 12:20 p.m. for the 12:30 to 1 p.m. event. The building is fully open at 1 p.m. In addition to story time, children can explore the indoor Nature Play Area, live animals and exhibits. The Simpson Bird Room, a historic collection of more than 150 birds dates back 100 years or more to a time when bird collections, rather than field guides, were an important resource to learn more about birds. Children and adults can also go outside to observe the birds of prey, walk the trails, and have fun in the outdoor Nature Play Area. Reservations for Story Time are requested by Saturday, Jan. 31, by calling the Nature Center at 716-569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org/February-First-Sunday. Participation is limited to 15. Walk-ins are welcome if there is room.
