Red Cross To Hold Blood Drive Friday
The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at The Resource Center, 200 Dunham Ave., Celoron. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County Board of Directors executive meeting will be held Friday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. in the Carnahan Center at Jamestown Community College. The public is welcome to attend.
County To Host Rabies Clinics In City
The Chautauqua County Health Department is announcing a free rabies vaccination clinic sponsored by The Salvation Army Jamestown Corp, the Chautauqua County Humane Society and the county Health Department from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, and again on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown. Animals must be pre-registered to receive vaccinations. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats, and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. While supplies last, microchipping and distemper shots will also be available through the Chautauqua County Humane Society at no cost. Pre-registration is required and should be submitted online by visiting HealthyCHQ.com/Rabies and view the calendar for upcoming clinics. Pet owners must bring previous rabies vaccination records for each animal receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination; clinic staff will confirm previous rabies vaccination records. All dogs must be on a leash. All cats and ferrets must be in individual carriers. Animal handlers will transport animals to the veterinarian for vaccination.
Audubon Day Camp Registration Due Thursday
Children ages 4 to 12 can spend the upcoming Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day school holiday at the Audubon Community Nature Center’s January Camp. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, they may explore how animals survive winter, discover who is still active in this season, investigate the properties of snow and ice, and more. Cold, wind, and ice change the landscape and bring new things to learn about, play with, and investigate. Children should dress for the weather, bring water and snacks and a lunch that does not need refrigeration, and extras of anything that might get wet. The cost is $48 or $36 for Nature Center member children. Additional siblings receive a $5 discount. Enrollment is limited. Paid reservations are required by Thursday, Jan. 15.
