Jamestown School Board To Meet Today

The Jamestown Public Schools District Board of Education will hold a meeting on today, Jan. 13, in the Lincoln Elementary School auditorium. There will be a student-led musical performance at 5:45 p.m. followed by a public hearing of the school district safety plan. The board meeting will begin at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Southwestern School Board To Meet Today

The Southwestern Central School District Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at Southwestern Middle School. The public is welcome to attend.

Reg Lenna To Screen Films Wednesday, Friday

The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen two films this week. Sentimental Value (Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m.) is the latest film from Oscar-nominated director Joachim Trier.Sisters Nora and Agnes reunite with their estranged father, the charismatic Gustav, a once-renowned director who offers stage actress Nora a role in what he hopes will be his comeback film. When Nora turns it down, she soon discovers he has given her part to an eager young Hollywood star. Suddenly, the two sisters must navigate their complicated relationship with their father — and deal with an American star dropped right into the middle of their complex family dynamics. The film is nominated for 9 Golden Globe Awards. Sentimental Value is rated R and is 133 minutes long. It is presented in Norwegian and Swedish with English subtitles. In Zootopia 2, (Friday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m.) rookie cops Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery when Gary De’Snake (voice of Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan) arrives in Zootopia and turns the animal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before. Zootopia 2 is rated PG and is 110 minutes long. Upcoming Movies at The Reg include the James Brooks-directed comedy Ella McCay (Jan. 21 at 7 p.m.), the musical fantasy sequel Wicked: For Good (Jan. 24 at 4 p.m.), Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons in the dark comedy Bugonia (Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.) and a special engagement showing of the historical war/legal drama Nuremberg (Jan. 30 at 6 p.m.) followed by a live conversation with the author of “The Nazi and the Psychiatrist – Jack El-Hai, presented in partnership with The Robert H. Jackson Center.
