Fifth Annual George L. Barone Jr. Scholarship Fund Holiday Fair Is Saturday
LAKEWOOD – The fifth annual George L. Barone Jr. Scholarship Fund Holiday Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at 185 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood. Every child that attends will receive a free wrapped present while supplies last. There will be 13 local vendors showcasing their local handmade items as well as a basket giveaway from local businesses that 100% of the proceeds will go to the George L. Barone Jr. Scholarship Fund housed at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. The scholarship will be awarded in June.
Golden-Agers To Meet Dec. 16
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. Prior to the meeting, members will hear a musical Christmas program by a group of students from Southwestern Central School under the direction of Susan Huther. Refreshments will follow. Interested seniors ages 55 and up are welcome to attend.
Stanley Hose Company To Host Blood Drive Dec. 17
SHERMAN – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Stanley Hose Company, 122 Park St., Sherman. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
