Host Joint Board

Meeting Nov. 13

ASHVILLE – The Panama, Clymer and Sherman boards of education will hold a joint meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Hewes Educational Center A Building, large group room, 2615 Maple Ave., Ashville. The meeting will include a presentation by the finalist consultants for the reorganization feasibility study. The public is welcome to attend.

Falconer Library Board To Meet Thursday

FALCONER – The Falconer Public Library’s next board meeting will be at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the library, 101 W. Main St., Falconer. The public is welcome to attend.

Quilts Of Valor Group To Meet Nov. 14

LAKEWOOD – Chautauqua Region Quilts of Valor will meet Friday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Quilter’s Haven in Lakewood for a general meeting to set future presentations and determine how many more quilts are needed. Quilts of Valor is a national organization recognizing veterans for their service. For more information about the Quilts of Valor Foundation and how to nominate a veteran, visit qovf.org.

Tickets On Sale For Nov. 15 Haunted Library Fundraiser

The James Prendergast Library will present its Haunted Library event, Mystery at the Victorian Inn, at 4 and 7 p.m. Nov. 15. Tickets are $20 and available at the library or online at www.prendergastlibrary.org/hauntedlibrary.

The Prendergast Library recently reopened to the public on Oct. 6 after being closed for six weeks to complete a building construction project. Due to the closure, the annual October Haunted Library fundraiser has moved to November. Mystery at the Victorian Inn will take place in the Fireplace Room. There will also be light hors d’oeuvres and two complimentary drink tickets with admission price. Wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages are available. Anticipated runtime is 90 minutes per show. The event is for ages 14 and over; those under 14 should be accompanied by an adult. Adults 21+ must have a valid ID to consume alcohol. Costumes are encouraged. The library is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call 716-484-7135 for questions or more information.

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary To Host Veterans Dinner Nov. 15

The AMVETS Post 726 Ladies Auxiliary will serve dinner on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. in honor of veterans. Any veteran who comes in for dinner either alone or with a significant other will be served at no charge. Dinner will be a choice of pork tenderloin with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and vegetable, or pasta with meat sauce, salad, and dessert. The cost of the dinner for non-veterans will be $12 for adults and $7 for children seven and under. The dinners may be eaten in the dining room or can be packaged for takeout. The bar will be open at 3 p.m.
