Planning Board To Meet Nov. 6

FALCONER – The Falconer Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Community Building Board Room, 101 W. Main St., Falconer. The public is welcome to attend.

South, Center Sewer Districts Board To Meet

CELORON – The Administrative Board of the South & Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will meet at noon Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Water Pollution Control Facility in Celoron. The public is welcome to attend.

Frewsburg Library To Host Puzzle Race Nov. 7-8

FREWSBURG – The Myers Memorial Library in Frewsburg will hold its Family and Friends Nutcracker Puzzle Race. There are two slots available – 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. Five teams race to complete a 500-piece puzzle. There will be treats and refreshments for all participants. The best times will get to take home the puzzle. Audubon Little Explorers Focuses On Turkeys On Nov. 8

The Audubon Community Nature Center will host its next Little Explorers from 10 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. During “Turkey Time” children and adults will learn about turkeys and along the way look closely at their feathers and feet, figure out what a snood is, and learn how they survive the fall and winter months. After a short indoor lesson, head outside to think like a turkey to find food and shelter. A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers takes place regardless of the weather, so dress accordingly. The fee is $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3 to 8 and Nature Center members. Enrollment is limited to 15 children, 30 participants total. To make a paid reservations, required by Thursday, Nov. 6, call 716-569-2345 during business hours or go online to AudubonCNC.org/events.

Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Holds Meeting

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 met recently. Guest Diman Smith spoke to the group about celebrating American Education week from Nov. 17-21. Chaplain Paula Pattison reported that the Unit held one funeral luncheon in the past month. Membership chairperson Sally Lawson is now accepting 2026 dues, $30, that can be paid by mail, or they can be dropped off at the post. Members of Unit 1280 will be in front of the legion on Friday, Oct. 31, handing out candy, fruit and books for trick-or-treaters from 5 to 7 p.m. The auxiliary and Sons of the Legion are working on a Veteran’s Day dinner and ceremony scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9. Unit members voted to have a collection box in the bar area to collect items for the Blue Star Mothers to help with their packages they send to the troops for the holidays; a list will be available at the bar for needed items. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 6:30 p.m..
