Frewsburg School Board To Hold Special Meeting

FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in the Middle School/High School Library, 26 Institute St., Frewsburg. It is anticipated the board will take action in open session and will then enter into executive session. There is no further anticipated action following the executive session. The public is welcome to attend.

Mayville Sets Trick-Or-Treating Hours

MAYVILLE – Trick or Treat hours were set by the village board to take place Friday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. in the village.

Falconer Library To Host Book Signing Saturday

FALCONER – The Falconer Public Library will be celebrating National Author’s Day on Saturday, Nov. 1.Local authors TJ Buck and Dawn Swanson will be available to sign copies of their newest books. Swanson will be reading her children’s book Charlotte & The Mischievous Cat at 10:30 a.m. The library is located at 101 W. Main St., Falconer.

Rabies Vaccination Clinic Set For Nov. 1 In Jamestown

The Chautauqua County Health Department will host a rabies vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Taylor Training Center, 240 Harrison St., Jamestown. Animals must be pre-registered to receive vaccinations. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats, and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. Pre-registration is required and should be submitted online by visiting HealthyCHQ.com/Rabies and view the calendar for upcoming clinics. There are a limited number of spots available, so pet owners should pre-register online as soon as possible. Those who register but decide not to attend the event are asked to cancel their appointment so the spot is available for another pet. Appointments can be canceled via the confirmation email received after registering. Pet owners must bring previous rabies vaccination records for each animal receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination; clinic staff will confirm previous rabies vaccination records. All dogs must be on a leash. All cats and ferrets must be in individual carriers. Animal handlers will transport animals to the veterinarian for vaccination.

Audubon To Host Next Story Time Nov. 2

The Audubon Community Nature Center will hold its next First Sunday Story Time from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, for children between 2 and 8 years old. The building is fully open at 1 p.m. The stories and Sunday admission are all free. Reservations for Story Time are requested by Saturday, Nov. 1. To reserve a space, call the Nature Center at 716-569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org/events. Participation is limited to 15. Walk-ins are welcome if there is room.
