Book Signing To Benefit Sugar Grove Fire Department Is Today

SUGAR GROVE – There will be a book-signing event for Volume V of Sugar Grove Profiles at the Sugar Grove Fire Hall from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 24. Sugar Grove Profiles are a series of interviews with personalities about their lives in Sugar Grove. All profits will go to the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department.

Ashville Library To Host

Bigfoot Speaker Saturday

ASHVILLE – The Ashville Free Library will host Denny Viglo, a speaker focusing on stories of Bigfoot and other unexplained events and creatures, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. There will be a question-and-answer session after Viglo’s presentation. Viglo tells stories of forest anomalies, particularly in the Kinzua area of the Allegheny National Forest. The public is welcome to attend.

To Hike,

Bike Sunday

On Sunday, Oct. 26, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike or bike the Kinzua Valley Trail located in Westline, Pa. The hike will be 4-5 miles on level ground. Those who choose to bike can ride the entire length of the trail (14 miles). Those attending should meet at Musante Street at 1:30 p.m. or at the trailhead in Westline at 2 p.m.. First Lutheran Church To Host Special Service Sunday

First Lutheran Church will celebrate Reformation Sunday, Oct. 26, at both the 9 a.m. contemporary and 11 a.m. traditional services. Brandon Caruso will be guest trumpeter at the traditional service on the hymns and the choral anthem “Proclaim the Mighty Power of God” arranged by Lloyd Larson. Brian A. Bogey, organist/choirmaster, will play “Sonata No. 2” by Felix Mendelssohn for the prelude and “Allegro Vivace” from the “Reformation Symphony” for the organ postlude. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle will be the preacher and celebrant for Holy Communion. The public is welcome.

Bemus Point School Board To Hold Special Meeting Monday

BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Central School Board of Education will hold a special board meeting on Monday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m. in the Maple Grove High School cafeteria, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point, for the purpose of presenting and acknowledging the 2024-25 external audit and other miscellaneous board business. The public is welcome to attend.

Cassadaga Haunted Tales Event Is Oct. 31

CASSADAGA – The Haunted Tales of Cassadaga Catacombs will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at 86 N Main St, Cassadaga. The event will include a haunted house and trunk or treat.
