Author Series Continues

BUSTI – The Hazeltine Public Library will host local author Sally Ferguson at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, as part of its ongoing author series. Ferguson is a freelance writer who will answer questions about inspirational writing, communicating that message and the mandates inspirational writers operate from. “Sally has been a very popular author and we are pleased to welcome her back to HPL,” said Katie Smith, library director. “She will also share the backstory of her inspirational contributions to the world and provide encouragement and direction to inspiring writers.” Presentations are free and open to the public. The series continues Joan Wahl on Oct. 27, Lana Keller on Nov. 3 and Joe Ulrich on Nov. 10. More information about the author series is available by calling the library at 716-487-1281. The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road and offers off-street parking. The library is a member of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System.

Panama School Board To Meet Monday

PANAMA – The Panama Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Blood Drive Set For Oct. 20 In Westfield

WESTFIELD – An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 in Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

County Ethics Board To Meet Oct. 22

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will meet at noon Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. West Portland Baptist Church Schedules Trunk Or Treat

WESTFIELD – The West Portland Baptist Church Sunday school is hosting a trunk-or-treat Friday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be food, games, prizes, crafts, treats and pumpkin decorating. The church is located at 7081 East Route 20, Westfield.
