Bemus Point School Board Meets Today

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Board of Education will conduct a special board meeting on Thursday at 5 p.m., in the library, located at Maple Grove High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, for the purpose of the consideration of an Intermunicipal Agreement and the Personnel/Employment of the Superintendent of Schools. The public is welcome.

American Red Cross To Host Blood Drive

CASSADAGA – The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Friday in the Cassadaga Fire Hall, 22 Mill St., Cassadaga. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Outdoor Club

To Bike, Hike Sunday

On Sunday, Oct. 19, Greg Burkett will lead an Allegheny Outdoor Club bike or hike in the West Creek Recreational Trail between St. Mary’s and Emporium Pa., a distance of 19 miles. The trail has a crushed limestone surface and is mostly downhill from St. Mary’s. The group will meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1:30 p.m. and car pool to the trail head outside of St Mary’s.

Vets To Host Fundraiser

Vets Finding Vets is hosting Patriotic Bingo on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Fluvanna Fire Hall, 3536 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. There will be monetary game prizes, basket prizes and a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds benefit the $1,000 Soldier’s Friend Scholarship Fund.

Vegetarian/Vegan Society To Meet Sunday

WESTFIELD – The Chautauqua Vegetarian/Vegan Society’s October meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Westfield YWCA is a tailgate party theme. Bring Those attending are asked to bring a favorite vegan snack and party foods. Organizers will provide baked potatoes and chili. Those who can are asked to bring a recipe for their dish and they’ll be typed up to make a party recipe guide. After the meal, the group will hold a brief business meeting and play veggie bingo. The cost will be $2 for those who bring a dish, or $6 for those who do not. For reservations call call Gail at 716-753-7761.
