Sewer Board To Meet Oct. 2

CELORON – The Administrative Board of the South & Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will meet at noon Thursday, Oct. 2, in the Water Pollution Control Facility in Celoron. The public is welcome to attend.

Norden Women’s Club To Hold Member-Guest Luncheon

The Norden Women’s Club will host a member-guest luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Southern Tier Federal Credit Union’s training center on Mall Boulevard, Lakewood. The social hour begins at 12:30 p.m., with lunch served at 1 p.m. The program is a presentation on “Emuzing Wildlife” by Cheryl Burns. Audubon To Host First Sunday Story Time Oct. 5

The Audubon Community Nature Center will host its monthly First Sunday Story Time on Oct. 5. Nature Center doors open at 12:20 p.m. on October 5 for the 12:30 to 1 p.m. event. Doors open to the public at 1 p.m. The stories and Sunday admission are all free. Reservations for Story Time are requested by Saturday, Oct. 4. To reserve a space, call the Nature Center at 716-569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org/events. Participation is limited to 15. Walk-ins are welcome if there is room. The center will be open on Monday, Oct. 13, with free admission for Indigenous People’s Day.

Boys, Girls Club To Offer Karate Classes

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club will offer a four week session of Intro to Karate at no charge to members. Hanshi Christina Kebort, an 11-time world champion, 9th Degree Black belt in Shotokan Karate and two time Hall of Famer will be the instructor. Keyboard is the chief certified instructor of Kebort’s Karate Tigers. Classes will take place Mondays in October – Oct. 6, Oct. 20 and Oct. 27. Each night, children in kindergarten through fourth grades will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. and fifth through ninth graders will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. On Monday, Oct. 13, when there is no school, the sessions will be from 2 to 3 p.m. for children in kindergarten through fourth grades and 3 to 5 p.m. for fifth through ninth grades. There will be no cost for the program for club members. A one-year youth membership is $25 with scholarship assistance available if needed. Sinclairville Library To Hold Book Sale Oct. 9-11

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library’s annual book sale will be held on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 2 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and a bag sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11. Baked goods will also be available for purchase. All proceeds from the book and baked goods sale are used for the benefit of the library and to enhance collections and programs. Library board meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month except for December. Board meetings are open to the public, and community input is valued.
