RANDOLPH – The Randolph Central School District Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m. in the Randolph High School library. The public is welcome to attend.

Planning Board To Meet Oct. 2

FALCONER – The Falconer Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in the Community Building Board Room, 101 W. Main St., Falconer. The public is welcome to attend.

Observatory To Host Observe The Moon Night Oct. 4

FREWSBURG – The Martz-Kohl Observatory will host an International Observe the Moon observance at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. The free event will be live at the Martz-Kohl Observatory and will not be livestreamed. It should be entertaining and educational for all ages. There will be opportunities for questions and answers during the demonstrations and presentations as well as after the event. Door prizes will be given away. If the weather permits, viewing opportunities through various telescopes will be available. Those attending should dress as if they wil be outside as observatory domes are not climate controlled and some telescopes may be set up outside. International Observe the Moon Night is a worldwide public event that encourages observation, appreciation and understanding of our Moon and its connection to space science, exploration, and human culture. This annual event connects scientists, educators and lunar enthusiasts from around the world. For more information visit martzobservatory.org. The Martz-Kohl Observatory, 176 Robbin Hill Road, Frewsburg, is operated by the Marshal Martz Memorial Astronomical Association, Inc. a non-profit organization devoted to the amateur astronomer.

Marvin House To Hold Chicken BBQ Fundraiser Oct. 9

The Marvin House is having a chicken barbecue fundraiser from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9. The dinner will be drive-through pickup only with orders picked up in Mechanics Alley off of West Fifth Street beside the Marvin House. Dinners will be catered by Basil & Bones, to benefit the upkeep of the Marvin House and to support community members in need. Dinners include a half barbecued chicken, baked beans, coleslaw and a roll with butter. Tickets are $16 and are available from Marvin House members, at the Marvin House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, by calling 716-488-6206 or emailing marvinhouse@marvinhouse.com. Tickets can be mailed and must be purchased by Oct. 7. Tickets can also be purchased and the meal donated to someone in need.
