National Fuel Gas Repairs To Close Jones & Gifford Friday, Saturday

National Fuel will be making repairs to a gas main on Jones and Gifford Avenue (County Road 67) near Walden Avenue in the City of Jamestown. The repairs will require lane closures and potential road closure of Jones and Gifford Avenue. The repair work is expected to take place on Friday, Sept. 26, and Saturday Sept. 27. A detour will not be posted. Drivers should plan on taking an alternate route.

Reg Lenna To Screen ‘The Bad Guys 2’ Friday, Saturday

The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will show the film The Bad Guys 2 at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, and a sensory friendly screening 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. A crew of animal outlaws from the 2022 hit family film are now-reformed and trying to be good, but instead find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist, masterminded by a new team of criminals they never saw coming: The Bad Girls. The Bad Guys 2 rated PG and is 104 minutes long. Sensory friendly showings are presented with the volume set lower and lights in the theater set higher for patrons with sensitivity issues. Movement around the theater is encouraged as needed. Ideal first movie experience for toddlers. Upcoming Movies at The Reg include the mystery-horror film Weapons (Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.), the costume drama Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.), a documentary about the legendary Pittsburgh Pirate and humanitarian Clemente (Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.), a 40th anniversary of the 1985 murder-mystery/comedy Clue: The Movie (Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.), the supernatural horror film The Conjuring: Last Rites (Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.) and a 50th anniversary audience-participation showing of the 1975 cult classic musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Oct. 31 at 10 p.m.)

St. James School Reunion Reservations Due Sept. 30

The St. James School Reunion, scheduled for Oct. 11 in the St. James Church Hall at 6 p.m., still has reservations available for those interested. The reservation deadline is Sept. 30. Contact Toni Bellitto by phone, text, or Facebook for further information.

Post 556 Auxiliary Meets

FREWSBURG – The Samuel L. Derby American Legion Auxiliary Unit 556 recently held its September meeting. Members reported nearly 200 hours of community service volunteering at the River Run, barbecue, making quilt tops, food pantry, Patriot Riders, Dwyer Program and DAR. Based upon an hourly rate of $34.79 as established by the Department of New York, this is a value of more than $6,800. The audit for 2024-2025 was completed with no findings. This year’s membership goal is 253. Donations of toiletries and crossword books will be accepted to provide to the veterans at The Magnolia for Christmas. The Meat, Gun, and Basket raffle will be held at the post on Oct. 4. Raffle tickets for the Buffalo Bills basket are now available, with the winner drawn on Oct. 4. Help is needed for the National Commander’s visit on Oct. 10. Members were reminded that county reports are due Oct. 1. The next county meeting will be held on Oct. 9 in Celoron. The Samuel L. Derby American Legion Auxiliary Unit 556 meets the third Tuesday of each month. All members are encouraged to attend.
