Planning Commission To Meet Today

The Jamestown Planning Commission will meet at 3:30 p.m. today in the police training room on the fourth floor of Jamestown City Hall. Items on the agenda include a review of the Powerhaus Fitness project at 834 Monroe St., improvements at 34 Scott St. and parking lot improvements at TJ’s Plumbing at 1005 Allen St. There will also be a comprehensive plan update, Safe Streets for All update and a Zoning Board of Appeals update. The public is welcome to attend.

Southwestern School Board Meets Today

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. today, Sept. 16, in the board room in Southwestern Middle School. The public is welcome to attend.

Reg Lenna To Show Film Wednesday

It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley will be screened at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17. The film is a documentary about the titular musician. Jeff Buckley, a rising star with an otherworldly voice, left the 90s music world reeling when he died suddenly after the release of his debut album. In a tragic accident, Buckley drowned in the Wolf River in Memphis in 1997, leaving behind an unfinished second album. Told through never-before-seen footage from Buckley’s archives and intimate accounts, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Amy Berg crafts an illuminating portrait of one of modern music’s most influential and enigmatic figures. Upcoming Movies at The Reg include the animated family film The Bad Guys 2 (Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. and a Sensory Friendly showing Sept. 27 at 2 p.m.), the mystery-horror Weapons (Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.), a 40th anniversary of the 1985 film Clue: The Movie (Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.), and a 50th anniversary audience-participation showing of the 1975 cult classic musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Oct. 31 at 10 p.m.) Tickets for most Movies at The Reg are $8 in-person at the box office and $10 online (reglenna.com) and by calling 716-484-7070. Classic Car Club To Gather Wednesday

FLUVANNA – The CLRAACA will have its monthly general meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the War Vets Recreation CLub in Fluvanna. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. Anyone with an interest in antique automobiles is welcome to attend.

Prendergast Library To Meet Thursday At Ss. Peter An Paul

The Prendergast Library’s next Board of Trustees meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, at 5:15 p.m. Due to the library construction closure, the meeting will take place at Ss. Peter & Paul, 508 Cherry St, Jamestown, across the street from the library. Board meetings are open to the public.
