Overnight Closures Of Interstate 86 Bridge Over Chautauqua Lake
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 over Chautauqua Lake between the towns of North Harmony and Ellery, Chautauqua County, will be closed to traffic at the following times to facilitate an ongoing rehabilitation project:
6 p.m. on Monday, September 8, until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9
9 p.m. on Friday, September 12, until 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 13
3 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily from Wednesday, September 10, to Friday, September 12 (closed to eastbound traffic only)
Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing State Route 394 and State Route 430. Work could be postponed depending on weather conditions.
Reg Lenna To Host Memory Cafe Sept. 9
Wild Blossom Hollow’s Christy Muck will show those attending how to create an arrangement using all of the flowers that are grown at Wild Blossom Hollow during the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts’ Memory Cafe on at noon Sept. 9. Memory Cafe at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts is a free respite and arts program for people with forgetfulness or other changes in their thinking (including cognitive decline, dementia or Alzheimer’s) as well as their care partner, family, or friends. Participants are welcome to enjoy music performances, crafts and easy, appropriate activities to spark friendly social interaction. Light refreshments and sandwiches will be provided. All attendees can choose to participate or simply observe. Patrons are asked to register for the Reg Lenna Memory Cafe ahead of time by emailing rsvp@reglenna.com or calling The Reg Box Office at 716-484-7070 with the names and number of attendees. A suggested (but not required) donation would support the Reg Lenna Memory Cafe, payable by cash, check and credit card. Enter the building through the Reg Lenna awning entrance (108 E. Third St.) next to Art Cloth+Craft. The Media Arts Studio is elevator-accessible. The Memory Cafe program at The Reg is made possible by Exhale and its funders: Ralph C. Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary To Meet Tuesday
CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 will hold its September meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the Legion Hall. It will be the auxiliary’s first meeting of the 2025-2026 year. All members are encouraged to attend.
Bemus Point Historical Society To Gather Wednesday
BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Historical Society will host a historical show and tell program on Wednesday Sept. 10. Attendees are encouraged to bring an item to present to the group and will be provided a few minutes to describe the item and the historic significance it holds. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the historical society’s building on Alburtus Avenue in Bemus Point. The Bemus Point Historical Society Museum will be open at 6:30 p.m. for touring.
