Overnight Closures Of I-86 Bridge Over Chautauqua Lake

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 over Chautauqua Lake between the towns of North Harmony and Ellery, Chautauqua County, will be closed to traffic in both directions from 9 p.m. Friday, September 5, to 9 a.m. Saturday, September 6, to facilitate an ongoing rehabilitation project. Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing State Route 394 and State Route 430. Work could be postponed depending on weather conditions.

Full Moon Paddle Saturday

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Lakes Association is holding a Full Moon Paddle on Saturday, Sept. 6. Participants should meet at the beach on Park Avenue in the village at 6:30 p.m. Departure will take place at 7 p.m. Participants must wear life jackets and have lights on their kayak/canoe/other floating vessel that requires a paddle. Bring your own food and drink. There will be Tikki torches and a bon fire.

Bemus Point School Board To Meet Monday

BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Board of Education will meet Monday, Sept. 8, in the library at Maple Grove Jr/Sr High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. The board is expected to move into an executive session from 5:30 to 6 p.m. The regular meeting begins at 6 p.m. The public is welcome.

County Land Bank To Meet

The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation’s monthly board meeting will take place in Mayville at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10 with the option to view live via YouTube.
